An alternative operating system

Linux Mint is a free tool for Windows users who want to transition to a familiar desktop with the stability and flexibility of Linux. This Debian and Ubuntu-based distribution is designed to be easy, with full multimedia support. It offers a comfortable and stable computing environment that requires little maintenance.

For those who want to try something new

Linux Mint’s user-friendliness and compatibility with less powerful PCs are immediately recognizable to a former Windows user. Since it’s free, it offers a stable and secure alternative to paid operating systems, backed by a large community and access to an extensive repository of free software, while consuming low space.

However, it suffers from compatibility issues with newer hardware or specific proprietary devices, which sometimes require extra steps to manually install drivers for optimal performance. Additionally, due to its conservative approach to package updates, it lags behind the latest versions found in other, faster-moving Linux distributions.

Breathe new life into your PC

Linux Mint is a highly recommended operating system for those seeking a non-Windows one. It provides a safe, reliable, and intuitive environment, making it a powerful solution for those who favor simplicity. Despite its conservative update cycle and potential for minor hardware hurdles, it’s a great system to try.

What I really love the most about Linux Mint is its highly customizable options. Users has the say when it comes to the look and feel of their display screen because the user can change and adjust every part of it to the look they prefer or suits them the most.

For me, Linux Mint is hundred times better than Windows 10 in terms of performance, security, privacy and reliability it provides. Plus, Linux Mint is completely free to download and install unlike Windows 10 that needs to be purchased for you to completely enjoy all the features they have in the system.

I love Linux Mint 13. it works nicely on most computers i have tried. i was shocked to see how well mint 13 worked on several different computers. you could get spoiled with this. it has just about everything you need built in. it makes it easy to add things you might want and to upgrade. after using Linux for awhile its nice to not have to put up with spyware and virus. there is almost always a solution to any small problems i have had (lots of online help). i am not used to anything working this well. using a live DVD or Jump drive version makes it easy to see if it work well on your computers. i use the Live versions to troubleshoot windows systems. i love the fact that i can make Bootable DVDs or Jump Drives of most versions i am interested in trying. it makes it easy to see which ones have the features i like . the uncluttered screen of mint 13 is a big improvement. the menu system is nicely done and organized so programs are easy and fast to get to without needing all that screen Icon clutter.. no system can do everything every time but i am impressed with how many specialized functions are taken care of automatically in mint. mint does require more memory than really old computers usually have. but there are other versions of Linux that work for that. i like windows XP but love the added security of being able to upgrade to the latest Linux system any time i want. there are some features that i don't like on Mint 13 (like hot corners) , the same features i didn't like on win7. they might be good for some but just in my way. fortunately you can turn those extra gingerbreads off if its not something you want. i am impressed at how successfully the Linux groups have managed to produce such polished results. i have nothing to do with the development of linux other than the occasional complaint to them when they do something i dont like (its nice to be able to do that). i am just a happy customer.
